CARRIAGE HOUSE OFFERS NEW SERIES OF COMPUTER COURSES 8 WEEK $50. COURSES START WHEN CLASSES FILL UP For Immediate Release Monday, November 20, 2000 Contact: Syracuse - ¾ The Carriage House Community Center (former Wagon Wheel) announced today a CATCH UP WITH YOUR KIDS series of computer courses designed to introduce upstate seniors to the world of computing, both basic and advanced. The beginning class will introduce the student to the various parts of the computer which is rapidly becoming the "appliance of choice" in the American home! Students will become familiar with all the things they’ve been reading and hearing about . . . keyboards, monitors, floppy disk drives, CD-ROM’s, mice ( or is it mouses? ) saving and retrieving files and documents. They’ll learn how to use the basic word processing programs, create and save personal letterheads, make mailing labels, design and print greeting cards, learn to design, create and print forms and play solitaire and other fun games. The advanced class will work on polishing up these skills plus an intro to home financial programs plus the fascinating world of being on line - surfing the web and learning how simple it is to both send and receive email.
